Eagles News · Heritage Cross Country Teams Finish Strong!


The Heritage Boys and Girls Cross-Country finished their season strong at the Section 5A Championship Meet in Mora, MN!
The boys team finished in 3rd place with 64 points.  MSHSL State Qualifiers included sophomore Kees van Oosbree who led the way for the Eagles with a 6th place finish and senior Henry Hakanson finishing in 15th place.  Junior Elijah Koopman finishing in 24th place as well as the best #6 runner in the field.  Coach Nate Hatton commented, “Our boys fought hard and ran an amazing team race.”
The girls squad finished in 4th place with 122 points.  Leading the Eagles to the finish line was junior Gina Solberg (19th place), senior Simone Lundquist (29th place), junior Sophia Haskett (34th place), and sophomore Macy Bell (37th place).  Seniors Abbie Vetse (44th place) and Morgan Bell (61st place)  also competed for the Eagles.  Vetse was the best #6 runner in the field and Bell was the best #7 runner in the field, proving great depth to the Eagles’ team.  Coach Nate Hatton commented, “Really pleased with our attitude and our effort today.  The girls executed their race plan well and left it all on the course.”
